Uncle Bobs Rainbow Shed
Mission statement: UBRS is a guild established about a month before extremely tired of raiding with other players who don’t. Our mission is to raid 3-4 times per week and work together to progress quickly.
History: UBRS was created first in the mind of Castawai, Tizirk and Sneep. Our friendship started with a guild I can’t spell, KS for short (was actually Kaldori Serrar). I, Castawai, was playing a warrior back then and joined the guild right as it fell apart. When the guild disbanded we all went our separate ways. We rejoined and formed Dark Ascension about 6 months later. With Tizirk as our guild leader we had high hopes of progression but, when we look back on it, realize we did not know how to properly run a guild. Again, after a long fight to keep the group together, our guild crumbled and we disbanded. Sneep and I decided to server transfer and see if we could join a guild already progressing. We learned a lot about raiding and how to run a guild. When we transferred back we had the intention of joining a guild and just being raiders, no leadership position. This did not work for us or Tizirk. We need to be the people in charge of the guild we are in; we are not followers. We reform for the third time and are extremely confident in our abilities as player’s leaders and guild operators. We will no longer accept new members on a whim or allow people to be carried to loot. So if you know how to play this game and are looking for others who know how as well then by all means post an application now. If you are not confident in your abilities, do not adapt well and are not consistently being told how good you are at this game then please do not waste my time. I will not put up with sub-par performance. I am looking for the elite.
What we’re looking for: Seeing as the guild was just formed and we are moving into Wotlk within a month, we are currently looking to bring players of all classes into our ranks. We have no restrictions on classes ATM.
Loot system: I have seen many loot systems in WOW and I do not believe any of them are as fair as the EP/GP system. Straight DKP is hard because the system can easily be worked for a players advantage. Straight loot council systems do not work because loot is passed out based on popularity.
Performance: In UBRS every person will be expected to pull their own weight and be an asset to the guild in whatever way is possible. I have seen shadow priests get into raids time and time again because they are a mana battery even though their performance was abysmal. If you are not a healer or a tank in a 25-man raid and are not pulling at least 4.5% of the overall dmg, your raid spot is in jeopardy and if you are falling below 4% you will be gkicked. Any person brought into a raid even if you are a support class should be capable of averaging about 4.5% of the overall dmg. There are obvious exceptions to this. If your job for the Akama fight for example is to dps one of the sides, you wont be doing dmg the whole time and your damage done will be lower. That being said if for an entire Akama fight you only manage 16 shadowbolts to do 1.4% of the overall dmg not only will I gkick you on the spot, but I will pester at you until you leave my vent and I will post around when you app to other guilds that you are a very bad player. Something like this is inexcusable unless you dc and even if it was a dc you better not dc too much because I also don’t have room for people with terrible internet connections. If you can’t see aoe’s on you because you get 3 fps in raids, I don’t have a raid spot for you. You may be saying Jesus I don’t want to join this hardass and get chewed out all the time. Please don’t misunderstand me. I love this game I have fun I am not soley concerned with bosses and loot. I am a very loose person and if you know me you know that I am definetly not an angry person. The previous paragraph is simply a rant about how tired me and all the other co-leaders of this guild are of carrying people who don’t shoulder their own load.
